Job Description

The Village of Randolph (pop 1796) is accepting applications for the position of Water/Wastewater Operator. This position will split duties between the Water Department and Wastewater Department. This position primarily involves duties that include monitor, operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities, distribution and collection systems, perform routine maintenance on plant equipment, record and maintain computerized service records for plant equipment, perform daily testing, maintain proper records, locate services and water mains, maintain land and buildings, respond to water and sewer calls/alarms, read meters and have meter knowledge, collect samples and conduct tests as required by the Board and by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, inspect and maintain lift stations and other related duties. A new 275,000 gallon water tower and well were constructed in 2000, a new well was drilled and new well house and pump was opened in 2012 and a total wastewater facility upgrade was finished in 2017. This is a full-time hourly position with limited weekend work. The Village offers State health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System, deferred compensation, flexible spending, paid vacations and paid holidays. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and it is desired, but not required, to have a WI Water/Wastewater License or experience in this area. The position requires the ability to obtain the Waterworks / Wastewater Certification Grade 2 and laboratory within 2 years and subgrades in sludge and collections systems within 3 years of employment. A valid driver's license is required. Salary consistent with experience and certifications. Starting wage range $19.00 - $24.00 per hour.
