Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator(s) in Training to Class IV Operator(s)

The Sanitary Board of the City of Charleston, WV (CSB) is a municipal sewer utility serving Charleston and adjacent areas of Kanawha County, WV. General Description The Charleston Sanitary Board is seeking a licensed Sewage Plant Operator and Operators in Training (OIT) for its Wastewater Treatment Plant. Essential Duties Maintain and keep plant in compliance with discharge permits Maintain cleanliness of the Treatment Plant Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Licensed Operators must have high school diploma or GED Licensed Operators must have hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants Licensed Operators must have knowledge in process control and mechanical functionality of pumps, process equipment, valves and controls Licensed Operators must have a valid West Virginia Class I-IV Sewage Treatment Operators License OIT(s) must have high school diploma or GED Experience in operations of maintenance of wastewater treatment plants for OIT(s) are a plus, but are not required Successful candidate(s) must obtain certification as a Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Works Operator within one year of hire CSB will pay for the training that is necessary for this position to meet the requirements to become eligible for testing Access to a full range of excellent benefits including health, dental, vision and life insurance; PERS (State) Retirement program and a generous paid leave (annual and sick leave) program.
