is hiring a Sub-Arc Welder for a fabrication company in Decatur, Alabama. This is a 1st shift opportunity with overtime required at times based on production and business needs. Pay is based on experience and will be determined during the interview process. Job Responsibilities Perform submerged arc welding on fabricated metal components according to blueprints, weld symbols, and job specifications. Use GTAW and FCAW processes as required for fit-up, root passes, weld repairs, or production welding applications. Set up and operate welding equipment, wire feeders, and related tools safely and efficiently. Inspect materials and completed welds to verify conformance to quality standards and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld procedures, and measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. Prepare and clean metal surfaces before welding, including grinding, fitting, and positioning materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety procedures and welding best practices. Work with production and quality teams to meet deadlines and maintain workmanship standards. Assist with additional fabrication and welding-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment required. Experience with submerged arc welding required. GTAW and FCAW experience required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and welding procedures. Ability to use measuring tools and inspect work for quality and accuracy. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds. Dependable attendance and the flexibility to work overtime when needed. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment and communicate effectively with team members. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shift. Ability to work in a fabrication environment around heat, sparks, fumes, and heavy equipment while following required safety protocols.
