Job Description

Welder/ Fabricator MIG/TIG at Industrial Equipment Services (IES) in Springdale, Arkansas, United States Job Description Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Administer welding activities such as riveting and welding small parts and finished products. Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications. Move work items and tools or other objects from one side of the shop to another by operating a forklift. Perform work by utilizing various hand and power tools. Analyze diagrams and specifications and cut metal by operating the welding torch. Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products. Collaborate work with metal sheets and apply various insulation materials. Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality. Comply with company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words and appropriate grammar. Knowledge of design techniques and tools involved in creating and reading technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of job site and shop safety procedures and protocols. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. The ability to control operations of equipment and systems. The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in blueprints and writing. The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. The ability to maintain strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in the fabrication process. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
