Job Description

Following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all the following: Properly set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems per work instructions and good welding practices. Positions and adjusts fixtures, attachments, or workpiece on machine, using visual acuity, hand tools and measuring devices. Adjust, within procedural limits, to fine-tune the process to achieve conformance standards. Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements. Performs proper pre-weld cleaning and handling of parts. Inspects hardware to ensure specifications are met, by visual inspection and measuring devices. Maintain a high level of performance while following appropriate procedures and observing all pertinent safety rules and requirements. Maintain work area and equipment in an organized, clean, and FOD-free manner. Obtain and maintain all required qualifications and certifications in all appropriate metals. Ability to perform set-up and troubleshooting of weld equipment. Understand general and weld specific safety issues. Provide guidance to less experienced welders as necessary. Assist with skill development, safety, and other training of welders. Work with Engineering as needed to develop weld processes and resolve weld issues. Troubleshoot all weld equipment working in a team environment to maintain operational needs.
Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalent. At least 8+ years of welding or related experience or demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities. Able to become certified to
AWS D17.1.2001.
Able to read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols and quality requirements. Must demonstrate manual dexterity. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Must be able to read and understand blueprints. Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics. Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
