Job Title:
Brazer Job Description The brazer assembles and joins metal components using controlled heating processes, filler materials, and precision techniques to create strong, leak‑proof, and durable joints. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints, and a commitment to producing high‑quality work in a production environment. Responsibilities Prepare metal components for brazing by cleaning, aligning, and securing parts according to specifications. Perform brazing operations on copper piping and other metal components using torches, induction heaters, and furnaces to reach appropriate brazing temperatures. Join copper piping and related components using proper brazing techniques to ensure strong, leak‑proof joints. Perform leak checks on refrigerant circuits, including pressure testing and system evacuation, to verify joint integrity and system performance. Inspect brazed joints and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with product specifications and standards. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and detailed instructions to complete work to exact specifications. Handle general mechanical assembly work as part of the overall production process. Follow established safety procedures related to heat, metalwork, tools, and equipment at all times. Work independently or as part of a production team to meet daily and weekly output and quality targets. Lift, move, and position materials and assemblies weighing up to 50 to 75 pounds as needed during the production process. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of brazing experience. Prior knowledge and hands-on experience joining copper piping using brazing techniques. Ability to perform leak checks on refrigerant circuits, including pressure testing and system evacuation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and detailed instructions. Strong manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination for precise brazing and assembly work. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality, accurate work. Understanding of safety procedures related to heat, brazing, welding, and metalwork. Ability to frequently lift 50 to 75 pounds safely. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in brazing, welding, or metal fabrication. Experience with mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with using torches, induction heaters, and furnaces to heat metal parts to brazing temperature. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and production equipment. Work Environment This role is based in a production facility focused on metalwork and mechanical assembly. The standard schedule consists of four 10‑hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work routine with a three‑day weekend. You will work with tools and equipment such as torches, induction heaters, furnaces, and standard mechanical assembly tools in an industrial environment where safety procedures are closely followed. Work involves standing, moving, and frequently lifting 50 to 75 pounds. Work uniforms are provided, supporting a practical and consistent dress code suitable for a hands‑on manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
