Shop and some field work Overview Hiring experienced welders/fabricators for a shop that builds custom metal projects. Work is varied—no repetitive production. Projects include pipe, tanks, stairs, ladders, and structural components. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and other materials Complete fabrication tasks including layout, fitting, welding, and grinding Read and follow fabrication drawings and blueprints Weld in multiple positions (including 2G, 3G, 4G as needed) Fabricate pipe, tanks, stairs, ladders, and structural components Measure and cut material to spec using hand tools and shop equipment Perform basic finishing (grinding, cleaning welds) Maintain a clean and safe work area Work with shop team to complete jobs on schedule Requirements (Must Have) 5+ years of MIG welding experience At least 3 years of fabrication experience Experience welding carbon steel (including pipe) Experience using .035 wire, flux-core, or dual shield (.045) Ability to read shop drawings and fabrication prints Strong tape measure and basic math skills Ability to produce consistent, quality welds Preferred TIG welding experience Experience with stainless steel Strong fabrication and finishing skills Work Environment Open shop environment (can be hot in summer) Combination of shop and occasional field work Use of standard fabrication tools (grinders, levels, tape, squares, etc.) PPE required (steel-toe boots, welding hood) What You Get Steady work with a variety of projects Mix of fabrication and welding (not production-only) Opportunity to build skills across different types of work Hiring Process Weld test Start once cleared Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
