In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding operations on various metal components, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and specifications. Your expertise in different welding techniques and fabrication processes will contribute to the successful assembly of complex structures and equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your technical skills to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Execute
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques on sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and structural components with precision and consistency Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and assembly procedures Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly Operate fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools to shape and prepare materials for welding Perform rigging, mechanical assembly, and installation tasks on construction sites or manufacturing floors as needed Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and understanding of ASME codes & standards Conduct quality inspections using schematics and technical specifications to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy Qualifications Proven construction site experience with hands-on welding and fabrication tasks Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW, welding techniques; certification is a plus Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings for fabrication projects Familiarity with using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, soldering, machining, rigging, and assembly processes Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and material estimations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to: Fabricates and assembles sheet metal parts and finished products from work orders, blueprints, and drawings. Performs such typical operations as drilling, trimming, filing, grinding and assembling parts in jigs with holding fixtures involving several location points to exacting tolerances. Straightens and aligns the assemblies before and after welding to keep parts in direct location to each other and to obtain proper contour to exacting tolerances. Checks planning sequence of work operations and submits corrections and suggestions to the Team Lead for approval. Determines what is acceptable in the appearance of a weld. Also understands shrinkage problems in order to compensate or this condition. Performs rework, repair and other associated operations relating to the work described. Ascertain correct welding rod, welding location and processes required to tack weld metal parts by following established shop practice, verbal or written instructions. Sets-up assemblies to determine if the parts are properly fitted prior to welding. Can perform PT or Helium as required. Maintain minimum output of 95%. Maintain minimum product quality acceptance of 99%. Follow all Senior policies and procedure. Other duties as assigned.
