$30.00 - $45.00 per hour Job Summary Kindness General Contractors, LLC is seeking skilled and dependable FAB/Welders to join our growing team. While our main office is based in Stanton, CA, job sites may vary throughout Southern California depending on project needs. The fabricator will lay out, cut, prepare, and weld metal components using shop fabrication tools, machinery, and welding equipment to produce high quality products. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety, and efficiency on all projects. In addition, this role includes supervisory responsibilities over fabrication personnel, workflow coordination, and adherence to company standards. Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day direction, oversight, and support to fabrication and welding personnel in both shop and field environments.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members in fabrication techniques, equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Review and verify team members' work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and operational guidelines consistently across the team.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and shop leadership to align manpower, materials, and equipment needs.
  • Participate in performance feedback, corrective action, and documentation as required by company leadership.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and safety‑focused work environment. Responsibilities
  • Review specifications, fab and shop drawings to determine materials, equipment, and fabrication requirements.
  • Fabricate, repair, cut, weld, and assemble metal components and structures using various welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Operate welding, cutting and shop fabrication equipment safely and efficiently, including basic hand tools, band saws, fixed and magnetic drill presses, iron workers, grinders, torches, and related tools.
  • Prepare, align, assemble, and tack weld components prior to final welding.
  • Takes care during the fabrication process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping and distortion.
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated products to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervision immediately.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Comply with all company safety programs, OSHA regulations, and applicable workplace safety standards at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support field and shop operations. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, modified, or changed at any time at the Company's discretion. Changes may be made formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of welding methods, fabrication techniques, and related equipment, including operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, weld symbols, shop and contract drawings.
  • Basic mathematical and measuring skills related to welding and fabrication work.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Education & Experience
  • Completion of a formal welding apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on training preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Relevant welding certifications are a plus. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to weld and fabricate in vertical, horizontal, flat, and overhead positions.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination required for precision work.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work in varying environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to safely traverse construction sites, fabrication areas, and equipment yards.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and job site conditions.
Pay:
$30.00 - $45.00 per hour
