Job Title:
Welder & Fitter - Career Opportunity - El Cajon, CA Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Welder/Fitter, where you will perform TIG and MIG welding on various assemblies. You will work closely with journeyman welders to assist with fit-up and fabrication tasks. The role requires reading blueprints, using fixtures, and operating hand grinders. This position is based on-site in El Cajon, CA, four days a week. Responsibilities Apply TIG and MIG welds on assemblies. Assist with fit-up and fabrication according to drawings. Operate hand grinders effectively. Weld exotic materials including alloys, Inconel, and 300/400 series stainless steel. Work with different material thicknesses such as .032, .060, .090, and .0188. Utilize back gaps during welding. Set up welding machines, including amperage and understanding weld symbols. Essential Skills Proficient in TIG and MIG welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience with welding assemblies and using fixtures. Knowledge of welding exotic materials like alloys and stainless steel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Own a welding hood. Willingness to work on various assigned jobs within and outside the welding field. Ability to fabricate parts under supervision. Capability to document work including type of rod and weld used. Skill in identifying materials and setting them on traveler. Why Work Here? The role offers a hands-on experience with advanced welding technologies and requires adherence to safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
