Shop Foreman / Production Manager About AVID Racing AVID Racing is a high-end manufacturer of off-road performance suspension components, titanium hardware, and precision-fabricated systems built for the most demanding racing environments. Our work is trusted by top-tier race teams and off-road enthusiasts who expect the best in quality, innovation, and performance. Position Overview We're looking for an experienced TIG Welder with a strong background in precision fabrication. The ideal candidate will have experience welding materials such as chromoly (4130), aluminum, and titanium, with a deep understanding of fit-up, joint prep, and quality standards for race-grade components. Responsibilities- Perform precision TIG welding on thin-wall materials (chromoly, aluminum, titanium).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and jigs/fixtures.
- Maintain high quality and consistency with tight tolerances and clean weld aesthetics.
- Prepare materials for welding (cutting, beveling, cleaning, fit-up).
- Perform part alignment and final inspection before handoff to finishing or assembly.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to improve production processes and weld quality. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years TIG welding experience (automotive, motorsports, or aerospace preferred).
- Strong proficiency in welding chromoly tubing and aluminum components.
- Experience with fixtures, jigs, and precision assemblies.
- Must demonstrate excellent weld consistency, bead control, and appearance.
- Must demonstrate foot control pulse welding.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines. Preferred Experience
- Titanium welding experience.
- Fabrication experience with suspension systems, roll cages, or chassis components.
- Ability to work with aluminum sheet metal to create custom paneling, including the use of bead rollers, brakes, and forming tools.
- Experience in a production or prototype environment. Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience and skill.
- Potential for performance-based raises.
- Full-time schedule, Monday-Friday.
