Job Description

Position Summary:
The High Purity Stainless Steel Welder is responsible for fabricating skids, tanks and piping assemblies or complete systems to the Engineers prints and specifications. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and adherence to strict quality and cleanliness standards to ensure weld integrity and compliance with industry specifications.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding on high-purity stainless steel tubing, piping, and components.
  • Execute sanitary and orbital welds in accordance with project drawings, weld procedures, and customer specifications.
  • Prepare materials for welding including cleaning, cutting, fitting, and alignment of stainless steel and carbon steel components.
  • Inspect welds visually and with measurement tools to ensure conformance with quality standards.
  • Maintain weld logs, documentation, and traceability as required by project specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment including TIG welders, orbital welding machines, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Must be able to safely operate forklifts/scissor lifts.
  • Follow strict cleanliness and contamination control practices required for high-purity systems.
  • Work from blueprints, isometric drawings, and weld procedures.
  • Collaborate with fabrication, engineering, and quality teams to resolve welding or fit-up issues.
  • Experience with assembly

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • 5 years of experience in related field
  • Knowledge in mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical drawings and welding, Rigging, material handling.
  • General knowledge of equipment safety and operation. (preferably Osha 10, LOTO, Confined space, fall protection, CPR, Forklift, etc)
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, food & beverage, or high-purity process industries.
  • Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent).
  • Welding qualification for stainless steel or carbon steel. (6G qualification preferred)
  • Knowledge of welding stainless steel, carbon steel and custom fabrication.
  • Experience with orbital welding equipment.
  • Familiarity with ASME BPE or sanitary welding standards.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to safely operate a forklift
  • Must be able to walk and be on feet 80% of the day
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel and squat
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual Dexterity and steady hand control for precision welding.

Pay:
$23.00 - $30.00 per hour
