Job Description

PlayCore helps build stronger communities throughout the world by advancing play and recreation through research, education, and partnerships. PlayCore has immediate openings for 1st shift Welder's at Dero located in Lakeland, Florida.
Responsibilities to include:
  • Laying out, positioning, and securing parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers and ruler.
  • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using MIG Welding equipment.
  • Cuts work piece, using powered saws and cutting torch.
  • Observes welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
  • Ignites torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
  • Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
  • Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must have:
  • A broad knowledge of welding.
The welding requirements may vary widely depending on the job being offered, this could include that some positions may be on the job for entry-level positions. Higher-level welder positions may require years of formal education in vocational or technical schools or colleges. Some welder positions require a general welding certification or certificate. Candidate must also be able to:
  • Possess a strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently

Pay:
$25.00 - $26.00 per hour
