Job Description

STRUCTURAL STEEL WELDER
/ FABRICATORAllen Concrete & Masonry -
Naples, Florida Pay:
$28-$40+ per hour (based on skill, production, and ability to make things happen)
Benefits:
Health Insurance,401(k), Training, Advancement, and a chance to build things your grandkids will point at someday.
WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A WELDER.
We're looking for the guy everyone calls when something is bent, broken, impossible, behind schedule, or "can't be done." The guy who looks at a pile of steel and sees a solution. The guy who can read a print, run a torch, weld overhead, fabricate a bracket from a napkin sketch, repair a crane attachment, and still make it home covered in steel dust with a smile on his face. If your toolbox has more miles on it than most people's trucks, keep reading.
WHAT YOU'LL BE BUILDING
At Allen Concrete & Masonry, we don't just pour concrete.
We build:
Custom crane attachments Formwork systems Heavy equipment modifications Structural steel assemblies Fabricated lifting devices Rebar racks Material handling equipment Jobsite innovations nobody sells because we build them ourselves Repairs that keep million-dollar projects moving One day you might be fabricating steel in the shop. The next day you might be welding 150 feet in the air on a high-rise project overlooking the Gulf. No two days are the same.
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF
✅ You can read structural steel drawings. ✅ You know the difference between making something "look welded" and making something "pass inspection." ✅ You understand fit-up, tolerances, distortion, and sequencing. ✅ You can run MIG, Flux Core, Stick, and ideally TIG. ✅ You know how to use a torch without creating modern art. ✅ You can fabricate from prints OR from a rough sketch. ✅ You take pride in your work. ✅ You solve problems instead of creating them. ✅ You don't need someone standing over your shoulder all day.
YOU PROBABLY WON'T LIKE THIS JOB IF
❌ You need constant supervision. ❌ You think showing up on time is optional. ❌ You blame your tools for bad welds. ❌ You spend more time talking than working. ❌ You think welding certifications make you a welder.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU CAN
Operate forklifts Run overhead cranes Fit structural steel Repair heavy equipment Read Tekla or fabrication drawings Perform field welding Build jigs and fixtures Operate ironworker equipment Machine basic components Train younger welders
WHAT MAKES ALLEN DIFFERENT?
Allen Concrete & Masonry has been building Southwest Florida since 1986. We self-perform concrete, masonry, cranes, logistics, layout, laser scanning, fabrication, and specialty construction work. We are not a corporation. We are builders. When we need a solution, we don't order it. We build it. Our fabrication shop supports projects ranging from luxury waterfront estates to 20+ story high-rise towers. If you're the type of person who wants to build cool stuff, solve real problems, and work alongside people who take pride in their craft, you'll fit right in.
THE TEST
Before you apply, ask yourself: When something breaks at 5:00 PM on a Friday and a $500,000 concrete pour is scheduled for Saturday morning... ...are you the person everyone calls? If the answer is yes, we want to talk. Apply today and show us what you've built. Pictures of projects, fabrication work, weld tests, and repair jobs are highly encouraged. Allen Concrete & Masonry "Process when possible. Heroics when necessary."
