On-site Job Summary The Certified Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication of aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. This role requires certification, precision workmanship, and strict adherence to safety, quality, and aerospace regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations using approved welding processes (TIG, MIG, or other methods as required)
- Weld aerospace materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other specialty alloys
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications
- Set up welding equipment, select proper filler materials, and ensure correct parameters
- Inspect welds visually and with measurement tools to ensure compliance with specifications
- Perform rework or repair of welds as required
- Maintain compliance with AWS, AS9100, and applicable customer or regulatory standards
- Document welding operations and inspection results as required
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Maintain a clean and organized work area Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current AWS or equivalent welding certification
- 3+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Demonstrated experience with TIG welding (other processes a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and meet production schedules
- Basic computer or documentation skills Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience working under AS9100 quality systems
- Familiarity with aerospace welding specifications and procedures
- Experience welding thin-gauge or precision components
- Ability to pass customer or contract-specific weld qualification tests Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding equipment, heat, noise, and metal materials.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Overtime or shift flexibility may be required based on production needs.
