Core Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled Core Welder to join our team, specializing in the welding and fabrication of custom parts for industrial applications, including pressure vessels used in shipyards and the boating industry. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in welding with MIG/Flux and have the ability to understand and work with blueprints. As part of a small machine shop, you will be responsible for your own prep work, and must pass a welding test due to the high standards required. Responsibilities Weld and fabricate custom parts for industrial applications. Interpret and work from blueprints. Perform cutting of parts and metals. Conduct own prep work in a small machine shop environment. Ensure parts are leak-free, requiring precision beyond spot welding. Essential Skills 1-3 years of welding experience with Flux Core. 1-2 years of experience with blueprint interpretation. Proficiency in MIG and Flux Core welding techniques. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with cutting parts and metals is advantageous. Understanding of jig work is a major plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates in a small machine shop environment with a first shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM. Fridays are reserved for mandatory overtime when available. The job requires wearing steel-toed boots and safety glasses due to the nature of the work. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
