Job Summary Our Job is 100% out of town , (most work is in
GA/AL/TN/MS
) but you return home on Thursday/Fridays unless there is an emergency on the weekends (hurricanes, ice storms, derailments) and we get called to service. Weekend jobs other than the previously instances listed are rare. We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety standards, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role requires proficiency in various welding processes and the ability to follow technical specifications. Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to following oral and written instruction. Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with a wide variety of personalities. Be at least 18 years of age. A background check will be mandatory. Class A CDL License is not required (preferred), but you must have a clean driving record for the last 7 years. Must be able to pass a drug test at hire and at random. MUST be willing to travel every week. Pay will be commensurate on your experience and could be elevated based on experience. Responsibilities Perform welding tasks. Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition. Use precision to ensure accuracy in welds. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining high-quality standards. Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Safely operate machinery such as rubber tire backhoes and excavators. Qualifications Proven experience as a Welder or similar role in a manufacturing or construction environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Familiarity with welding codes and standards relevant to the industry. Utility construction experience is a plus! Proficient in using hand tools and power tools related to welding tasks. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
