Job Description A Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components and structures according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. This role involves operating welding equipment, performing MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding, measuring and cutting materials, inspecting finished work for accuracy, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The welder works closely with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to customer specifications. Job Duties/Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements. Operate welding equipment such as arc welders, MIG, TIG, or other welding machinery to join, fabricate, or repair metal components. Inspect materials and completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Set up and maintain welding tools, machines, and equipment for safe and efficient operation. Perform welding tasks using appropriate techniques such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), or flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, or cutting to ensure proper weld quality. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members or supervisors to complete projects on time and according to specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues or equipment malfunctions. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 1 year of welding experience Proficiency in operating welding tools, machinery, and related equipment. Strong understanding of welding techniques and materials, including metals and alloys. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions. Familiarity with safety standards and procedures related to welding and metal fabrication. Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle welding tasks effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions. Experience with grinding, cutting, and shaping metal components is a plus. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
