Job Title:
Diesel Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team and perform aftermarket installations and customizations on trucks. This position requires a candidate who is detail-oriented and committed to quality, with the ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Perform aftermarket installations on both new and used trucks, including mud flaps, frame accessories, steps, racks, and electrical accessories. Complete welding and fabrication tasks, such as customizing frames, brackets, and mounting solutions. Read work orders and specifications to determine required parts, materials, and installation procedures. Carry out general assembly and disassembly tasks using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment. Inspect all completed work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with company and manufacturer standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all shop safety procedures and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment. Essential Skills Experience as a Diesel Mechanic with at least one year of manufacturing/mechanic experience. Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and vans. Proficiency in welding, particularly MIG welding, and fabrication. Experience in trailer repair and brake system maintenance. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. Capability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to weld using methods other than MIG is a plus. Proficiency with common shop tools and equipment. Understanding of basic truck components and accessories. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Why Work Here? The position operates in a dynamic, hands-on setting, requiring comfort with getting dirty and working in a workshop atmosphere. Employees are expected to adhere to safety procedures and maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grimes, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
