Job description Job Description - Dimensional Checker Verify First Piece & Two-Hour Inspections of the manufactured parts. Check and verify all dimension & weld sizes shown on the engineered drawings. Verify the dimensions checked by circling those dimensions on the drawing. Verify weld sized by using weld gauges. Check manufactured parts with the GNG gauges provided. Fill out QAR inspection reports for the products inspected. Label each checked item with their inspection labels. The dimensional checker shall be accountable for each of the piece they check from each of the fixtures within their assigned areas. The dimensional checkers only responsibilities are to make sure the products within their assigned areas are manufactured correctly, manufactured to the dimensions specified on the fabrication drawing, manufactured withing the established tolerances and welded correctly by following the weld symbols and verifying those weld lengths and sizes shown on the drawings.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2-years welding experience even though welding is not required for this position. Must be able to read and understand blueprints/drawings. Must be able to read and understand weld symbols. Must be able to use and understand weld gauges. Must be able to use, read and understand shop tools. A. Tape measure B. Tri-Square C. Calipers D.
