As a third-generation family business, we take pride in our products and our employees. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Production Welder to join our team at our Des Plaines, IL facility. This position is heavily focused on hands-on welding operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG, TIG, spot welding, and automated laser welding while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety. Job Summary The Production Welder is responsible for performing precision welding on alloy and carbon steel components used in the manufacturing of torque tools and industrial products. This role requires the ability to operate both manual and automated welding equipment, interpret blueprints and welding specifications, and consistently produce high-quality welds that meet production and quality standards. Willing to train motivated candidates with strong mechanical aptitude. Previous welding or manufacturing experience preferred. Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform light-duty MIG, TIG, spot welding, and automated laser welding on alloy and carbon steel materials. Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, work instructions, and technical drawings. Inspect welded components to verify weld quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy. Prepare materials and components for welding, including cleaning, positioning, and fixture setup. Perform minor weld finishing operations such as grinding, deburring, and cleanup. Troubleshoot minor welding equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs as required. Maintain weld consistency while meeting production schedules and quality expectations. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and welding best practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist with light assembly or product support tasks as needed to support production requirements. Support cross-training initiatives and work collaboratively with production and assembly teams. QualificationsSkills Previous welding experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred. Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding required; spot welding and automated laser welding experience is a plus. Experience working with alloy and carbon steel materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Mechanically inclined with good hand-eye coordination. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques. Manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination required. Comfortable working around heat, sparks, noise, and manufacturing equipment (PPE provided).
