- 3rd Shift East Peoria, IL | Caterpillar This Supplemental MIG Welder position offers a strong training opportunity for individuals interested in building or expanding their welding skills in a manufacturing environment.
Pay & Shift Details Pay:
$23.22/hour + $1.00/hour off‑shift premiumShift:
3rd Shift — Sunday-Thursday, 10:00 PM-6:00 AM Caterpillar is currently hiring Supplemental MIG Welders for 3rd shift at our East Peoria LL manufacturing facility. All required personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided, including safety glasses (with prescription options), welding hoods, and safety boot reimbursement. What You'll Do Perform MIG and GMAW welding on steel components Weld plain and alloy steel in all positions Operate robotic welding equipment in a production environment Follow standard work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging Use overhead and jib cranes to position materials Required Qualifications Ability to pass Caterpillar welding qualification testing Ability to work 3rd shift and overtime as needed Desired Qualifications At least 1 year of production MIG or GMAW welding experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting or A welding certification from an accredited college or institution Experience welding steel ½ inch thick or greater Basic computer skills Preferred Skills & Attributes Strong communication skills Commitment to safety and teamwork Ability to work independently or as part of a teamAdditional Information:
90 Day probationary period includes weld school training This position is located in East Peoria Bldg LL No relocation package is available Must be able to pass welder qualification requirements during the Caterpillar provided training by a Certified Welding Educator (CWE), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or approved personnel Safety is a core value at Caterpillar.
