Job Description

Job Overview Sureway is a leading metal fabricator located in suburban Chicago with approximately 100 employees. We are actively working to expand our market base into additional areas of metal fabrication, leading to the potential for an increase in staff. We are seeking a Class A Welder. This role involves creating welding jigs and fixtures, ensuring quality through inspections, and tracking production in the ERP system. The individual will report to the Welding Supervisor, suggest improvements, and maintain part quality. Responsibilities
  • Must be able to work with welding standards and specifications.
  • Create various jigs, holding fixtures, guides, etc., to produce metal welded assembly parts in accordance with layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
  • Ensure set up/1st pc inspections are completed to ensure conformance with quality standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring work in process inspections.
  • Clock in/out of ERP system when performing set ups, for accurate accounting.
  • Clock into job in ERP system when running production, record quantities produced (including any scrap) and clock out at the end of job, for accurate accounting.
  • Reports directly to Welding Supervisor and advises of any problems that may arise.
  • Make suggestions to the Supervisor for any potential improvements.
  • Responsible for the quality of all parts produced in/ leaving the department.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications Experience:
8 or more years in welding and metal fabrication. Knowledge of welding standards and blueprints, familiarity with ERP systems and quality inspection. Proficient in creating jigs, and fixtures, strong attention to detail and problem-solving, effective communication. Experience welding
Stainless and Aluminum Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
