MIG Welder Job Description Join our dynamic team as a MIG Welder, where you will contribute to the fabrication of a diverse range of sheet metal and structural steel products. You will work with materials ranging from 14 gauge through 1/4" carbon steel and stainless steel to create high-quality components such as guards, chutes, and frames. Responsibilities + Operate MIG welding machines and regulate current and voltage to ensure proper fusion of metals. + Select appropriate materials and gauge of metal as per project requirements. + Interpret and work from engineering drawings, layouts, sketches, samples, prototypes, or verbal instructions. + Utilize various hand power tools and hand tools to complete the finishing of products. + Grind out slag, burrs, and sharp edges using a portable grinder or sander. + Inspect finished parts and mark part numbers as necessary. + Operate forklifts or overhead cranes to transport parts and materials. Essential Skills + Proficiency in MIG welding and blueprint reading. + Experience in welding materials such as 14 gauge through 1/4" carbon steel and stainless steel. + Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with grinding and fitting. + Capability to operate forklifts or overhead cranes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00
