Welder Job Description The Welder is responsible for performing welding processes for the fabrication and assembly of metal carts, cabinets, stainless tables, and carts. This role requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods, up to 10 hours per day. Additionally, the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly is essential, with occasional assistance required for lifting up to 100 pounds. Responsibilities Perform welding processes for metal carts, cabinets, stainless tables, and carts. Determine the appropriate welding process, equipment, or method based on product requirements. Set up components for welding according to job specifications. Follow all safe manufacturing, material handling, and PPE procedures. Adhere to written and verbal directions to complete assignments or jobs. Perform duties in alignment with company procedures. Conduct quality checks on all finished processes or work. Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area. Perform additional duties as assigned. Essential Skills MIG welding TIG welding Fabrication Proficiency in hand and power tools Proficiency in using a tape measure Blueprint reading Welding certificate or 1-3 years of MIG welding experience Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to combine schooling and on-the-job experience Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is typical of a manufacturing setting, where conditions can become warm in the summer. The 2nd shift operates from Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. While the facility is not overly clean or dirty, it is organized and conducive to productive work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
