Job Description

Prior experience with welding and finishing stainless steel is preferred, but not required. If you are willing to learn, we are willing to train you. ECon Welding & Fabrication is a growing manufacturer of metal furniture bases and displays. Our products are featured in many high end applications, such as Google, DreamWorks, LA Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Starbucks, various TV shows, and countless other homes and restaurants. We are looking for a dedicated, hard working individual with a strong attention to detail who takes pride in their work to join our team. Most products are made from 16ga-11ga square or rectangular tubing, ranging from 3/4" square up to 4" square tubing. Flat bar is also commonly used ranging from 1/8" up to 1/2" thick. Most welds are ground seamless. Job duties will include taking pre-cut parts and MIG or TIG welding the parts together according to print and grinding down all visible welds. Graining and polishing of the raw material will also be necessary to create brushed or polished finishes. This process is very time consuming so patience and attention to detail are critical for this role. Use of fabrication equipment may also be required, such as punching, shearing, cutting, etc Most projects you will be working by yourself on, however you must be able to work well with a team since you will be working closely with others. Must also have a good understanding of the fabrication process and be able to keep parts square and level. Since the job is primarily furniture and display applications, overall appearance of the finished project is very important. Attention to detail is critical. Initial hours will be 7:00am to 4:00pm (there is some flexibility to this). Major holidays are paid days off, you also get 1 week of additional paid time off during your first year of employment with an additional day added for each year of employment. If asked to interview , please come dressed to perform a weld test. Bring your own helmet and gloves if you have them. You will be asked to build a simple structure and keep it square and level. Outside butt welds will be ground seamless. We will be looking at quality of weld appearance, ability to keep the structure square, as well as your ability to grind the welds and keep the ground area flat without gouging into the material. Time to complete this test will also be a factor.
