5:00AM - 5:30PM Overview Xcel is seeking a dedicated and skilled Temp to hire Manual Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding tasks on various metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise will help us deliver durable, high-quality structures and assemblies that meet project requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your hands-on skills to bring designs to life with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures. Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and Manual welding techniques on sheet metal, pipe, ductwork, and fabricated assemblies. Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to prepare materials for welding. Measure components precisely with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure proper fit-up and alignment. Execute welding tasks in accordance with ASME codes & standards, safety protocols, and project deadlines. Conduct rigging, pipe threading, assembly, and mechanical fitting as needed for fabrication projects. Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting welds for quality, performing touch-ups or rework as necessary, and adhering to safety guidelines at all times. Qualifications Proven experience working on construction sites or manufacturing facilities as a manual welder. Proficiency in
MIG, TIG, FCAW
welding techniques; experience with Manual welding preferred. Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and rigging operations. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication processes. Mechanical knowledge of ductwork systems, pipe threading, assembly processes, and schematic interpretation.
