Job Description

GMAW Fabrication Specialist Picture your day on the floor: you review a print, lay out steel with precision, set your MIG parameters, and run clean, consistent beads in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. You verify fit-up, check tolerances with micrometers and calipers, and record your results so the next operator knows exactly where things stand. When something isn't right, you stop, contain the issue, and alert your lead immediately. That combination of craftsmanship and accountability is what we're looking for. What you'll do Lay out, position, and secure components to spec using jigs/fixtures, then tack and complete welds with GMAW and other processes as needed. Interpret engineering drawings and follow defined weld symbols, sequences, and assembly requirements. Dial in equipment settings (voltage, amperage, wire speed, shielding gas) to achieve the required arc characteristics and penetration. Maintain equipment through routine preventive checks, basic troubleshooting, and arranging repairs when needed. Capture production and quality information in logs and travelers with accurate, timely entries. Use precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect parts and verify conformance.
Model strong attendance and reliability:
arrive prepared, follow your schedule, and remain focused through the shift. Champion quality and safety every time—do it right the first time, use required PPE, and follow all shop rules and procedures.
Own your results:

Note:
The core tasks above reflect the most important responsibilities, but you may be assigned related duties as business needs evolve. This description may be updated at any time.
