Job Description

About us •
AI-Powered Transformers:
We equip standard distribution and power transformers with sophisticated microchips that act as the "brain" of the unit. These chips continuously collect data and detect inefficiencies in the energy system before a failure or outage occurs. •
Product Lineup:
The company manufactures custom and standard single-phase overhead, pad-mounted, and premium power transformers. • U.S.
Manufacturing Focus:
WE champion domestic manufacturing. By producing components in the American heartland, they significantly reduce wait times compared to overseas suppliers (4 to 6 months instead of 12-24 months). Notable Contracts and Expansion •
Department of Energy Contract:
WE hold a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to install and supply its smart transformer units on military bases along the West Coast. •
Facilities and Growth:
In early 2026, the company broke ground on a 180,000-square-foot facility expansion in Miami County, Kansas. This is expected to create 2,000 jobs over the next decade to meet national demand from government agencies and private entities. •
Commercial Rollout:
We have established key partnerships, such as United Rentals, Coterra and NuVolt to showcase its smart grid systems at national trade shows.
Core Job Responsibilities Blue-Print Interpretation :
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and American Welding Society (AWS) symbols to determine exact structural fit-up requirements.
Pre-Weld Preparation :

MIG Welding Execution :
Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) welds in flat, vertical, and overhead positions to securely seal transformer tanks and enclosures.
Thermal Management :
Monitor the burning and fitting process closely to ensure transformer components do not warp, distort, or shrink from overheating.
Quality & Defect Inspection :
Visual test finished welds for cracks, porosity, and spatters, making sure all structural components meet rigid factory leak-proof standards.
Material Handling :
Safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to move massive, heavy transformer sub-assemblies through the shop.
Equipment Care :
Set up, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot routine issues with welding machines, wire feeders, and regulators.
Required Skills & Qualifications Welding Expertise :
Proven experience operating MIG equipment, including a strong grasp of voltage, wire-feed speeds, and protective gas mixtures (like Argon/CO2).
Technical Knowledge :
Deep understanding of the thermal properties and characteristics of industrial metals like steel and aluminum.
Physical Stamina :
Capability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for up to 10 hours a day, and work safely in heavy manufacturing environments.
Tool Proficiency :
Skilled with standard shop equipment including angle grinders, band saws, hand tools, and oxy-fuel or plasma cutting torches.
Safety Mindset :
Rigid adherence to warehouse safety policies and a commitment to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Minimum of 1 to 2 years of solid MIG welding experience, ideally in a heavy fabrication or heavy machinery manufacturing setting.
