Welder Fabricator - EMT Hyspeco, Inc. - 3.0 Wichita, KS Job Details 3 hours ago Qualifications Blueprint specification interpretation Basic math Forklift Machining tools Overhead cranes Full Job Description The Welder lays out and fabricates metal weldments and assemblies. He executes the requirements of the work orders and processes material accordingly. He must be familiar with welding, fitting, and other structural fabrication processes. He will use drawings, specs, and/or verbal instructions as well as exercising judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals. Based on instructions/information given, he will make fabricated products using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment, as well as working with other departments. He should have the ability to check his own work. He must meet deadlines and document progress. He must be flexible, dependable, time conscious, and be able to move from project to project with minimal supervision. He must work closely with the shop management. The Welder's responsibilities will include the following: The ability to weld using MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding processes. The ability to perform structural fit up using best shop practice. Must be able to weld per WPS The ability to use appropriate measuring instruments for the task. The ability to operate hand tools. The ability to operate a variety of fabrication machines. The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks. The ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing. The ability and maturity to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Maintain a clean work area as required. Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

The qualified candidate must possess as a minimum: Welding/fabrication/layout experience. Must own tools appropriate to the job being performed. Ability to use appropriate tools and equipment related to the task (plasma, oxy-fuel, saws, mag drills, drill press, etc). Fabrication skills include complicated layouts, check & straightening capabilities. Prefer AWS Certified Welder in Steel, Stainless, Aluminum and qualified in all positions Should be able to use measurement equipment to inspect their own work. Must be able to rig and move heavy structures. Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and drawings. Basic math skills. Operate Fork Lift and Overhead Crane Must be able to lift up to 75lbs Pass weld test
