Job Description

JOB TITLE
MIG Welder/Metal Fabricator
SCHEDULE
Day Shift:
Mon
  • Thur, 6:00 am
  • 4:30 pm, regular Friday overtime/Saturday overtime as needed SUMMARY The position will consist of layout, fitting, and MIG welding of mild steel.
Applicants must be able to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and tape measure. A weld test and blueprint assessment will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proficient use of basic hand tools
  • Accurate tape measure reading
  • Experience in MIG Welding
  • Experience in layout and fitting
  • Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • One or more years of trade school experience, other apprenticeship experience, or on-the-job experience in related field or industry.
Ability to read a metric tape measure and ruler (ability to convert fractions to decimals and conversely decimals to fractions). Candidate must be a strong team player. Candidate must to be reliable. Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision while meeting all product quality requirements. Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of engineered specified tolerances. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Self-sufficient in all areas of responsibility. Report any safety concerns in press area due to faulty tooling / machine. Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures. Safety conscious behavior. Excellent attendance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift, carry, push and or pull 1
  • 60 lbs frequently. Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently. Sit, stand and walk for 1
  • 10 hours per day. Ability to work in a 55
  • 85 degree Fahrenheit work environment.
Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing when required.
