Full Job Description Position Summary:
Marine Welder/Fitter/Dry Dock•Aluminum Welder The Welder/Fitter is responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding metal parts and structures according to blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions. This position requires the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, select proper materials, and perform high-quality welds to meet production and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Aluminum is a must Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols. Measure, cut, and fit metal components according to specifications. Set up and operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and stick welders. Fabricate and assemble structural steel, piping, and other metal assemblies. Assist with layout, grinding, and finishing work as needed. Work independently or as part of a fabrication team to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years of welding and fitting experience (structural or pipe). Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions and environments.
Work Environment:
Shop, yard, or field setting depending on project requirements.
Typical Schedule:
