Job Description
Job Overview Jedco is seeking a skilled Aircraft Welder to join our team supporting the fabrication and repair of aerospace and aircraft engine components. This position works with a variety of metal alloys using both manual and semi-automatic GTAW welding equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Maintain required welding certifications in accordance with customer and job requirements Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, specifications, and work instructions Perform GTAW welding operations on aerospace components and assemblies Inspect welds and assume responsibility for weld quality and workmanship Utilize measuring and testing equipment to verify conformance to specifications Lay out materials, set up parts, and utilize fixturing to complete welds and weld repairs Perform weld preparation, blending, and finishing operations as required Complete degreasing, cleaning, and other pre- and post-weld operations Perform Jedco Autonomous Maintenance inspections and basic equipment maintenance to ensure proper operation of welding equipment Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area Support team objectives and perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications GTAW (TIG) welding experience preferred Sheet metal welding or fabrication experience preferred Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability and willingness to develop and master required skills in a timely manner Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred Previous welding or manufacturing experience preferred Applicable welding certifications are a plus Physical Demands Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position
