Steel Welder

Job Description We are looking for a skilled Steel MIG Welder to work at our facility in South Lyon, Michigan. You will be responsible to create welded parts according to blueprints and inspect the welds for accuracy. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, and have pride in their output. The product you build will be integral to assemblies that will be included in the construction of innovative car washes installed both locally and globally. Responsibilities Determine the appropriate welding method based on properties of metal. Set up components for welding according to blueprints and drawings Ability to efficiently use a variety of mechanical hand tools, cordless and pneumatic drills and drivers, wrenches, measuring devices, manual lifts etc. Keep work area, parts, supplies and tools organized. Request repairs and replacement of supplies as needed Basic math skills for use of measuring and inspection tools Ability to work on your feet all day, moving continuously and lifting up to 50lbs. Work in a healthy team environment, assists others when able and as needed Maintain strict shift attendance compliance Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required Qualifications/Skills High School Diploma or GED. Welding and technical skills with two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to use fixtures and fabricate weldments. Knowledge of metallurgy. Knowledge of MIG welding techniques. Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
