Lead Structural Welder
  • $34 Build and Lead a New Welding Department We are a growing, family‑owned industrial manufacturer launching a new structural welding department.
This role is designed for an experienced structural welder who wants to lead from the floor, set standards, and help build a team from the ground up. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on quality, safety, and process excellence. Position Overview The Lead Structural Welder is responsible for performing high‑level structural welding while training and guiding other welders. You will play a key role in establishing procedures, improving workflows, and maintaining a safe, efficient operation. Key Responsibilities Lead a shift performing structural welding using GMAW processes: Spray transfer Pulse Short circuit Flux‑cored Fabricate and weld large structural frames and construction skids to code and specification Train, mentor, and support welders with a focus on quality, safety, and procedure compliance Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and AWS welding symbols Perform accurate layout, fit‑up, and fixturing prior to welding Identify fabrication challenges and implement practical, production‑focused solutions Support continuous improvement and help establish department standards Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts safely Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding area Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands‑on GMAW structural welding experience 3+ years in a lead or supervisory welding role Proven experience welding large structural assemblies Ability to pass

qualifications: 2G GMAW Spray Transfer 3G Flux‑Cored Welding Preferred Skills Strong blueprint reading and AWS weld symbol interpretation High‑accuracy fit‑up and layout in production fixtures Working knowledge of structural steel behavior and material thickness variation Safe operation of cranes and forklifts Compensation and Benefits Scheduled raises totaling $5/hour over two years Quarterly performance bonuses 4% 401(k) company match Additional raise upon MIG pulse certification (on‑site CWI available) Company‑paid medical, dental, and vision insurance Full PPE provided, including 3M PAPR welding hood Life insurance Family‑owned company with a strong promote‑from‑within culture Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Little Canada, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00
  • $75000.00/yr.
  • Scheduled pay raises equaling 5 dollars in over two years
  • 4% 401k matching
  • Quarterly bonuses
  • Raise once getting MIG pulse certified with CWI on site
  • Medical, vision, and dental insurance company paid
  • Full PPE provided, including 3M PAPR welding hood
