ISC is looking for skilled, technical candidates to fill a welding/fabricator position at our Minneapolis, Minnesota location. The Welder/Metal Fabricator will perform MIG and TIG welding, metal fabricating, assembly, maintenance and quality control.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Blueprint Interpretation:

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to plan projects.

Metal Fabrication:

Cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, and shaping materials (steel, aluminum, and stainless steel) using tools like torches, saws, and grinders.

Welding Processes:

Joining components using welding techniques such as MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW).

Assembly & Fitting:

Aligning, jigging, and fitting parts to ensure they are square, plumb, and to specification, including small assemblies and broaching keyways.

Quality Control:

Inspecting welds for accuracy, strength, and structural soundness.

Equipment Maintenance:

Cleaning and maintaining welding equipment and tools to ensure safe operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

Proven experience as a welder or fabricator, technical school training or apprenticeship a plus.

Schooling:

High school diploma or equivalent, AWS (American Welding Society) certifications are highly valued.

Welding Proficiency:

Technical knowledge of different metal types and welding techniques (MIG/TIG).

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials (50lbs), and work in uncomfortable positions.

Mathematical Aptitude:

Precision in measuring, marking, and calculating angles and dimensions using dial calipers, tape measures, squares, etc.
