Job Description

  • Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence. We are seeking 1st and 2nd shift GMAW welder/fabricators to join us as we expand our welding capabilities to our St. Paul, Little Canada facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to thrive within an evolving new division of a well-established manufacturer! 1st shift hours
  • 5am-3pm, Monday
  • Thursday. 2nd shift hours are 3pm-1am. Monday
  • Thursday. Potential for overtime on Fridays. 2nd Applicants should be prepared to receive training/orientation during day shift hours initially for a period of 1-2 weeks (hours flexible during this time frame) 2nd shift differential for this position is $1.75. Key job functions
  • GMAW welding (Spray, Pulse, Short Circuit, Flux core)
  • Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, specifications (including AWS weld symbols)
  • Fabricate weldments from prints using hand tools and or fixtures.
  • Trouble shoot fabrication challenges/ solutions.
  • Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within department. Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-years MIG welding and fabrication within an industrial environment preferred.
  • Welding vocational degree or program completion strongly preferred.
  • Ability to pass
D1.1 2G GMAW
(spray transfer) qualification once hired.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, 75lbs.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, rotate and grasp repetitively throughout shift.
  • Exposure to fumes, dust, heat and noise levels above 80 dB.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to adapt in a developing welding department.
Applicants will be evaluated via a written and practical exam.
Contents covered:
Welding knowledge and symbols, GMAW ability, blueprint and layout aptitude. Ability to fabricate and weld from a print is necessary . $24
  • 29 starting hourly wage, based on experience and pre-employment weld test.
1$ per hour pay increase upon successful D1.1 2G GMAW-spray qualification test. We supply tools, uniforms/work clothes, PPE including 3M PAPR welding hood, boot reimbursement.
