Welding I

Position:

Performs a variety of basic TIG welding in most positions to ensure components are being welded to engineered specifications. Job Responsibilities

• Works under close supervision of senior personnel to weld assemblies according to engineering specifications.
• Able to TIG weld in most positions.
• Sets Weld machine voltage and wire speed for proper fusion of metals following standard work methods and detailed drawings.
• Performs basic maintenance of welding equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Inspects weldments for obvious defects such as but not limited to: weld splatter, rough welds, missing welds, pin holes, and sharp corners/edges.
• Fills out job related paperwork on Job Travelers to meet company ISO standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills:

• Basic reading writing and math skills.
• Basic measuring tool knowledge to include tape measures, calipers, etc.
• Basic blueprint reading preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Previous experience preferred
• 0-1 year

Certifications:

AWS D1.1

preferred

• Physical & Environmental Requirements
• Moderate physical demand.
• Frequent lifting/moving weights up to 70 lbs.
• Frequent standing/walking throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting and reaching.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments.

Pay:

$18.00
