Calculate and verify material measurements to ensure all components meet required dimensions and tolerances. Use MIG welding techniques and appropriate welding tools to produce high-quality welds. Fit and assemble metal components using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures. Inspect completed work to confirm it meets quality standards and blueprint specifications. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in the shop. Collaborate with experienced welder/fabricators to solve fabrication challenges and continuously improve processes. Essential Skills Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or related fields. Proficiency with MIG welding processes and welding tools. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and schematics. Hands-on fabrication experience, including fitting and assembly of metal components. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure and other measuring tools. Capability to calculate and verify material measurements against specifications. Comfort with physical work, including lifting, moving materials, and standing for extended periods. Solid understanding of welding procedures and basic safety practices. Reliable work ethic with a focus on quality and attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a small shop environment is beneficial. Strong attitude and work ethic, with eagerness to learn and improve. Openness to feedback and willingness to learn from seasoned welder/fabricators. Flexibility to handle both repetitive tasks and one-off custom projects. Comfort working without strict climate control in a shop setting. Ability to work effectively as part of a close, collaborative team. Why Work Here? You will join a small, close-knit team where you can learn directly from highly experienced welder/fabricators and expand your skills beyond basic production work. The environment encourages growth, continuous learning, and hands-on experience with a wide variety of custom projects. Attitude and potential are genuinely valued, creating opportunities for motivated individuals to develop their craft and advance over time. Work Environment This position is based in a small, non-temperature-controlled shop environment. You will work on 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role involves regular use of welding equipment, hand tools, tape measures, and other fabrication tools while standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the day.
