Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced 1st Class Structural Welder (Welder A) to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. This role is responsible for welding structural metal components according to blueprints, work orders, and verbal instructions. The ideal candidate has strong marine welding experience and can consistently produce high-quality welds that meet inspection standards. General Function Weld structural metal components using appropriate techniques and equipment, ensuring all work meets required specifications, safety standards, and quality inspections. Typical Duties & Responsibilities Weld structural components based on blueprints, work orders, and instructions Apply knowledge of metallic and non-metallic material characteristics Perform welding on butts and bulbs in all positions Successfully pass Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) inspections Perform tank testing and related duties as required Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards Maintain welding equipment and work area Must-Have Requirements Minimum 3 years of 1st Class Journeyman marine welding experience Ability to weld in all positions (vertical, overhead, etc.) Proven ability to pass UT and MT testing Ability to pass required welding certification tests Strong understanding of blueprints and welding symbols Reliable attendance and ability to work full-time Preferred Qualifications Shipyard or marine industry experience Experience with structural steel and heavy fabrication Familiarity with tank testing procedures Additional welding certifications Strong attention to detail and quality control Ability to work independently and as part of a team Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in multiple welding techniques Strong understanding of material properties Ability to follow technical instructions and drawings Physical ability to work in demanding environments (heights, confined spaces, etc.) Commitment to safety and quality workmanship Whippy Interview Questions (6) What steps do you take to maintain safety and accuracy during welding operations? 3 years 3
