Welder Pay:
$31.00 Night Shift Job Summary As a skilled welder, your primary jobs consist of welding together metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or instructions from management or a supervisor. The welder utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metal and non-metal materials including the knowledge of the equipment to be used in the process. In the sequence of work activities, the welder's job follows that of the fitters, welding together structural components that have previously been fit and tacked into place. Major Duties & Responsibilities Operate tools and welding equipment including welders, cutters, torches, drills, grinders, and sanders. Set up parts and assemblies for welding, while configuring machines for different steel gauges of any types. Conduct measurements and quality checks, maintaining accurate records. Perform general labor operations such as load/unload parts, grinding, scraping, and nibbling fabrications. Essential Skills & Experience High school diploma, or equivalent. 3 years of welding experience, shipyard experience is required. Must be able to weld ceramic tape and gouge Proficiency in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, stick and flux-cored welding. Ability to interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Understanding of welding equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.
