Job Description

Welder Fabricator and Fitter Job Description This role offers an opportunity for an experienced welder fabricator and fitter to join a growing manufacturing operation with significant demand and a strong focus on quality. You will contribute to high-volume production by working with larger steel components, helping reduce weld seams while maintaining strict quality standards. The position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong mechanical aptitude, and can consistently weld to code using both stainless and carbon steel. Responsibilities Perform welding and fabrication tasks on stainless and carbon steel components in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Fit and assemble metal structures using larger pieces of steel to reduce welding seams while maintaining structural integrity. Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to complete fabrication and assembly work accurately. Conduct precise measurement and tolerance checks to ensure components meet quality and dimensional specifications. Use grinding and other metal finishing techniques to prepare, clean, and finish welds and fabricated parts. Set up and operate MIG and TIG welding equipment safely and efficiently for various welding applications. Perform mechanical assembly tasks related to fabricated components, using strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Participate in and pass required welding tests to demonstrate proficiency and adherence to quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures in an open-air manufacturing environment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in quality and efficiency. Essential Skills Proven ability to weld to applicable codes and quality standards. Hands-on experience welding stainless steel and carbon steel. Fabrication experience, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components. Strong mechanical aptitude to support fabrication, fitting, and assembly tasks. Measurement experience for performing tolerance checks and ensuring accurate assembly. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Demonstrated ability to pass a welding test. Proficiency with MIG welding processes. Proficiency with TIG welding processes. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in metal fabrication environments involving grinding and finishing operations. Comfort working with larger steel pieces to support high-efficiency production methods. Strong work ethic and reliability in a production-focused setting. Commitment to producing high-quality work and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively on a structured schedule with long shifts. Why Work Here? The setting emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with a practical, hands-on atmosphere typical of a busy fabrication shop. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
