06/09/2026Position Summary:
The MIG Fixture Fabricator is responsible for designing, building, modifying, and maintaining welding fixtures. This position plays a critical role in supporting production efficiency, product quality, and operator safety by creating fixtures that enable consistent and timely manufacturing of welded components.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design, fabricate, and assemble welding fixtures, jigs, templates, and tooling to support MIG welding operations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and production requirements to develop effective fixture solutions.
- Build fixtures that improve production efficiency, part consistency, and welding quality.
- Modify existing fixtures as needed to accommodate engineering changes, quality improvements, or production requirements.
- Troubleshoot fixture-related issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and welding personnel to identify fixture needs and process improvements.
- Ensure fixtures are designed for safe operation and ergonomic use by welding personnel.
- Verify fixture dimensions and functionality through measurements, testing, and trial runs.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on existing fixtures and tooling.
- Utilize welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, machining, and fabrication equipment to manufacture fixtures.
- Maintain an organized work area and properly store tools, materials, and completed fixtures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum of 2 years of fabrication, welding, tooling, or fixture-building experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MIG welding processes and manufacturing practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols.
- Proficient in the use of measuring instruments, including tape measures, calipers, squares, and layout tools.
- Experience operating fabrication equipment such as welders, saws, grinders, drills, and other metalworking machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with others.
License or Certificate required:
- Forklift experience Physical Aspects of the position: A typical workday might include: Prolonged periods of walking and standing in a manufacturing environment, ability to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities, pushing/pulling product, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds - unassisted, grasping, grabbing, using hands, hand/eye coordination with attention to detail.
