Fabricator / Welder

Job pay based on experience $20•$35 As a Metal Fabricator, you'll be responsible for cutting, fitting, grinding, and assembling steel components in our shop and on-site at job locations; this includes fabrication of fire escape baskets and stairs / staircases, etc. You'll work on a variety of fire escape systems, often dealing with aged or irregular materials. You are to ensure each job is completed to code and ready for inspection. This role requires working at heights. If you are unwilling to paint after fabricating or repairing, this is not the job for you. Responsibilities Measure, cut, and fit steel components Grind, prep, and weld materials as needed Read and follow shop drawings and on-site instructions Operate power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment safely Assist with field installations and repairs of fire escapes Work at height and follow all safety protocols Travel for short-term jobs when required (expenses paid) Requirements 6+ years of steel fabrication experience Skilled in cutting, grinding, fitting, and general assembly Ability to read a tape measure and follow detailed instructions Familiarity with power tools and basic construction practices Comfortable working at heights and outdoors Willing to perform basic surface prep and paint application Valid driver's license; clean record preferred Willingness to travel for occasional out-of-town jobs (includes per diem) Welding experience (Stick) Nice to Have Field installation or structural repair experience Leadership or crew experience OSHA or safety training
