Welder (B Shift) Northern Air Systems Inc - 3.9 Rochester, NY Job Details Full-time $23 - $27 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Mechanical fabrication Full Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder to join our production and fabrication team on B shift. The ideal candidate will have experience with TIG and MIG welding processes, blueprint reading, metal fabrication, and maintaining high production and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Set up and operate electric and gas welding machines to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts, and verbal instructions. Regulate gas flow and mixtures for proper welding applications. Maintain records of welding settings from precision TIG control panels and power packs for repeat production applications. Clean parts and materials to remove contamination prior to welding. Set up and perform all phases of welding operations using clamps, fixtures, torches, and related equipment while working to specified tolerances. Perform grinding and testing duties on fabricated products including drain pans, tanks, and other assemblies. Assemble assigned parts and components in accordance with production guidelines and quality standards. Move materials throughout the work area using forklifts, hand trucks, or other approved equipment as needed. Complete standard job sheets and production documentation for each job. Change weld cups, electrodes, and tooling as necessary to maintain quality and production standards. Examine electrodes for sharpness and sharpen as needed. Assist management by recommending tooling and equipment improvements. Measure and set up jobs according to blueprints and production specifications. Report discrepancies in materials, blueprints, or production requirements to management. Notify management of equipment malfunctions or area repairs needed. Maintain tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Follow all company policies and procedures with special attention to safety regulations and safe work practices. Wear required protective clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous welding and fabrication experience required. Experience with TIG welding preferred; MIG welding experience a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings. Ability to use measuring tools and maintain specified tolerances. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to distinguish colors accurately. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and move materials safely. Ability to work in a manufacturing and welding environment with exposure to heat, sparks, fumes, and industrial equipment. 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Monday - Friday
