Job Description

Welder / Fabricator
  • Aluminum Boat Builder Job Overview We are seeking skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team building high-performance aluminum boats.
This is not generic production welding—this role involves precision fabrication, structural assembly, and fit/finish work on premium marine vessels. You will be part of a team constructing offshore and recreational boats from the ground up, including hulls, decks, and integrated components. The right candidate takes pride in clean welds, tight tolerances, and building a finished product. Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble aluminum boat hulls, decks, and structural components Read and interpret marine drawings, hull layouts, and build plans Perform MIG and TIG welding on marine-grade aluminum (5083/5052) Fit and tack components prior to final welding to ensure proper alignment and finish Operate fabrication equipment including press brake, shear, router table, and saws Work with stringer systems, bulkheads, fuel tanks, and mounting structures Maintain high standards for weld appearance, distortion control, and weight management Collaborate with rigging and finishing teams to ensure proper integration of systems Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace Skills & Qualifications Experience welding and fabricating aluminum (marine experience strongly preferred) Strong MIG welding skills; TIG is a plus Ability to read and work from detailed fabrication drawings Understanding of fit-up, sequencing, and distortion control Experience with press brake, cutting tools, and fabrication equipment Mechanical aptitude and ability to problem-solve during builds Forklift and rigging experience is a plus Strong attention to detail—this is a finished product environment, not rough structural work
