Job Description

Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. The Welder I is responsible for performing high-quality welding processes, including GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG), to support the fabrication of medical devices. This role requires strict adherence to company policies, quality standards, and safety practices within a regulated manufacturing environment. This position works under close supervision and follows detailed instructions to ensure precision and compliance. What will you be doing? Welding Operations Perform welding using GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) processes Operate and maintain welding equipment in a safe and efficient manner Perform basic measurements using: Micrometers Calipers Angle finders Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Documentation & Compliance Complete required documentation in accordance with: Company Quality Manual and procedures FDA, QSR, and applicable domestic and international regulations Adhere to all company policies and procedures Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work effectively in a team environment Communicate clearly and actively participate in process and product improvement initiatives Safety & Maintenance Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment Perform basic equipment maintenance as needed Additional Duties Perform other related duties as assigned What will you need to be successful? Education & Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Vocational/Technical certification or equivalent military experience preferred Experience Minimum of 5 years of welding experience Skills & Competencies Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement tools Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints Basic math skills Ability to read, write, and speak English Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Travel Requirements None (0%) Work Environment Manufacturing environment with a focus on medical device fabrication High emphasis on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance You Unlimited.
