JOB SUMMARY
Assist in the day-to-day functions of the Weld Department, including but not limited to the welding and prepping of carbon steel valve bodies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operation of various equipment using the stick welding processes. Read Engineering prints/drawings/documents. Work individually and as part of a team. Identify and verify parts and materials. Verify accuracy of paperwork as required. Periodically inspect tools and equipment for accuracy/deficiencies. Ensure job orders remain with parts at all times. Sandblast and clean various components while standing for long periods of time. Observe and follow all Safety practices dictated by the Weld Department Supervisor and company policy. Weld carbon steel valve bodies and bonnets. Work and assist in other departments as required and perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to operates various equipment using the stick welding processes. Ability to read Engineering prints/drawings. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organization skills. Ability to lift 51lbs or more on occasion with a lifting partner. Must be punctual and reliable. Ability to be certified on SMAW101 Weld Test.
