Job Title:
Certified Welding Inspector Job Description Join a family-owned fabrication shop specializing in various steel products for diverse industries. Currently, we are working on a large contract with a solar panel production company, constructing conveyor structures up to 50 feet per section and 300 feet in total length. We are seeking a skilled Welding Inspector to ensure all welds and fabrications meet the accuracy required by the drawings. This role involves half-time computer-based documentation organization and half-time on-floor inspection. There is no production fabricating involved. Responsibilities Inspect welds and incoming/outgoing parts for correct size and workmanship. Read and interpret shop drawings and weld symbols. Evaluate completed welds for acceptance. Ensure all welds/fabrications meet the specified drawings' accuracy. Essential Skills Proficiency in reading blueprints and layout. Experience in weld inspection and quality control. Familiarity with welder workmanship and best practices. Ability to use calipers, weld gauges, and micrometers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in metal shop inspection. Work Environment Work in a custom fabrication shop that specializes in both large-scale and small custom projects, employing a tight-knit team of 15-20 employees. The day shift runs from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofOREGON CITY, OR.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
