Graveyard Shift or Weekend Shift BBSI is currently accepting applications for Rework Welder for our aerospace manufacturing client in SE Portland. Position Summary Repair metal castings to meet customer and company specifications by welding and restoring defective areas. This role requires precision, strong welding skills, and the ability to work to strict quality standards, including aerospace requirements. Key Responsibilities 1. Welding & Repair Review work instructions, inspection reports, and tech cards Identify areas that require repair Perform welding using one or more methods: TIG (GTAW) - primary requirement MIG (GMAW) Stick (SMAW) Plasma Arc (PAW) Complete repairs according to internal procedures and quality standards (including aerospace specs) Position parts using fixtures, benches, or cabinets; use mirrors when needed for tight areas Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and proper metal deposit 2. Equipment Maintenance Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment Repair or replace torch heads, cables, and other components as needed Training On-the-job training provided Welding Tech Series courses (as required) Alloy and/or Titanium certifications (as required) Welding certifications (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, PAW) Minimum Qualifications At least 5 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience (required) Experience welding in a manufacturing or production environment (aerospace preferred) Ability to read and follow technical instructions and blueprints Strong attention to detail and quality Additional Requirements Good hand-eye coordination Ability to work independently Ability to lift 30-50 lbs regularly (up to 80 lbs occasionally) Comfortable working in industrial conditions (heat, noise, dust, chemicals, confined or awkward positions) Vision requirements: 20/30 (corrected), with depth and color perceptionMUST HAVE
